A Few Things

The kids worked hard the past couple days at school. We have started to really work on mental math fact practice. A great way for the kids to practice is by taking advantage of a parent council supported software program called Mathletics. There are lots of good features to this program including that it's aligned with the Alberta curriculum, it's fun and engaging and it can be adapted to different levels. I really hope your child is able to take advantage of this program in his/her free time at home. The login information is at the front of the agenda. If using it on a phone or Ipad, open up a web browser. You do not need to purchase the app. The kids have the option of working in a couple sections. The Learn section takes them through the curriculum. The Play section has games in it where they are still practicing good math, but in a different way. There is a game in the Play section called Rainforest Math where the kids can play at a higher or lower level. This is great for kids who want an extra challenge in math.

Have a great weekend!
