Another Long Weekend - No School Monday

We had a good short week. Here are some of the highlights:

  • We have been working on a short writing project about things we are thankful for. They will be complied into a class book.
  • We started working on growing patterns in math.
  • We started Exploring Liquids in Science. Check out some pictures of the lab we did today on water (Oct photos). Next week the kids will visit each grade 2 classroom to learn something different about this concept. In mine, we will cover absorption and waterproof materials.
  • We did a directed drawing of a haunted house (check Oct photos). Next week we will color with crayons and use liquid watercolors to do the background. They should be done in time for you to see them at parent teacher conferences on Wed.
  • The kids worked on underhand throwing in gym.
If you haven't booked a time to come on Wed, please contact me. All the time slots are filled up but that doesn't mean you can't come. We can talk and find a time that works. Let me know.

I am just in the process of planning out our Halloween celebration. I am going to try something new this year but just need to put more thought into the plan. Instead of you sending in premade food, I would like ingredients so we can make it here. I will send more information either this weekend or early next week.

Next week we will get busy and work on the art for the Christmas card fundraiser.

Like usual, if there is anything you are wondering about, please let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing you next week.
